Once again the Clinton Firefighters are asking for your help, and from the community in our fund raising efforts.
Our main fund raising event has always been our Pork Roast, Fireworks and raffles. We hope that our 2010 event will be just as successful this year as in the past with your support.
The fire department had a very busy year in 2009 with a total of 125 runs. We responded to 39 calls in the Village of Clinton,36 to the Town of Bradford,29 to the Town of Clinton and 19 mutual aid calls outside of our district. The department responded to 2 commercial fires, 8 residential fires, 8 vehicle fires and 14 other fires. Other responses include 37 traffic accidents, 16 special duties, 12 automatic alarms and 16 ambulance assists. In 2009 the members of Clinton Fire department participated in over 1500 hours of training. This training is required to keep all members up to the State of Wisconsin standards. Along with In-House training many members attended Out-of-House training located around the State of Wisconsin. some of this training consisted of incident command, vehicle extrication and air pack training with live burns just to name a few.
Some of our plans for the 2010 funds raised will be to build a live fire simulating facility. This would allow our firefighters to train at our station under controlled conditions. There are always some small equipment needs that are not covered under our yearly operational budget. These items will be purchased throughout the year when the membership decides the need for them.
Our main Fundraiser has always been our raffle that is drawn at 8:00pm the night of our Pork Dinner. The Pork Roast Dinner is scheduled for August 7 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with fireworks to follow at dusk. This year the Grand Prize is $3000.00 cash. Other prizes include 1st prize of $2000.00, two 2nd prizes of $1000.00 and two 3rd prizes of $500.00. The coast of these tickets is the same as in the past at $10 each or 3 for $20. Tickets can be purchased from any of the fire members or at the fire station.
